Generic Amoxil is primarily made to treat contamination associated with ear, bladder, pneumonia, gonorrhea salmonella and E. coli infections.
Generic Amoxil is also used to treat strep throat, lyme disease, skin infections, acne, urinary tract infections, and chlamydia infections. Generic Amoxil is often prescribed in combination with clarithromycin (Biaxin) to treat helicobacter pylori infections and stomach ulcers. These medications are also often treated with ansoprazole (Prevacid) to aid in the treatment of excess stomach acids. Less serious side effects include: nausea, vomiting, abdominal pains, diarrhea, unusual vaginal discharge, itching, headache, and swelling or discoloration in the tongue.

Do not take this medication is you are allergic to penicillin or penicillin based antibiotics. Consult your doctor if you have a history of the following medical conditions before taking Generic Amoxil: asthma, mononucleosis, liver disease, kidney disease. Inform your doctor if you often experience diarrhea when on antibiotics.
There is a risk that Generic Amoxil may make your birth control less effective. Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or at risk of becoming pregnant before taking this medication. Generic Amoxil has the potential to pass through breast-milk. Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding while on this medication.
Inform your doctor of all prescription and herbal medications that you are taking before starting to use Generic Amoxil. Your doctor should be made particularly aware if any drugs that you are taking that may contain the following: blood thinners, probenecid, azithromycin, clarithromycin, telithromycin, erythromycin, sulfa based medications, and drugs containing tetracycline.
Speak to your doctor about any contraception's you are currently using. Generic Amoxil can diminish the strength of certain hormonal birth controls, such as rifampin or rifabutin-and other types of rifamycins. You may be required to take alternative birth control while on this medication.
Never exceed the recommended dosage of Generic Amoxil. Missed doses should be taken as soon as the users remembers, however if it almost time for the next dosage, skip the missed dose and revert back to normal schedule. Do not take more than 2 doses of Generic Amoxil in one instance.
Store at room temperature between 59 and 86F (15-30C), away from light and moisture. Do not freeze Generic Amoxil. Avoid keeping this medication in a bathroom, nor close to a heat source or in the path of direct light. Keep away from children and pets.
