Jutta Schönsiegel
I would not consider myself an "artist"
in the convential sense of the word.
I never had any formal art training and have probably learnt mostly by trial and
error.
For me art-making is first and foremost an act of meditation, an activity in which
I can lose myself and my wordly concerns and have behind the noisy reality of modern
life for a while.
I can empty myself of everyday preoccupations and watch as an image takes shape on
my blank sheet of paper. In fact, it never ceases to amaze me how a single, undefined
thought in my mind can travel down my arm and hand - straight into my brush or pencil
to transform itself into an image before my eyes.
It's just marvellous!
